As a Napa Valley native, one of my first jobs was working summers at the Oakville Grocery where I cultivated an early appreciation for fine foods and wine. Throughout my years in the Valley, this appreciation has become a passion.
I attended the University of California at Santa Cruz where I received a degree in Environmental Science and Planning. I then turned my love of music into a career by expanding my Disc Jockey business, developing a large radio fan base, and creating a successful record label called Rhythmatrix.
Soon after University, I used the computer knowledge I gained in the music business to become an Evangelist for Apple Computer and a Technical Services Manager for JIAN, a marketing software company. Leaving the Silicon Valley for San Francisco, I began a new career in Professional Publishing with Thomson Reuters where I was a Director of Technical Support Services.
My work took me all over the country, and after many years away, I became homesick for the Napa Valley. Coming back to Napa allowed me to meet my wife Jennifer Rue. It also allowed me to grow our family with our only child, Otto Rue.
Making a life-long commitment to the Napa Valley wine industry, I joined Benson Marketing Group where I developed many of the Internet marketing strategies and tactics I use today.
I am currently working with Chateau Montelena along with a close network of other wine professionals including designers, photographers, public relation specialists, and various Application Service Providers.
Along with wine marketing I continue to pursue my love of music by DJing around the Napa Valley, and creating my own computer based music.
I have also indulged my hobby for vintage motor scooters by founding the Napa Valley Scooter Club and leading group rides up and down the Valley.
